Assoc. Dr. Derman Başaran

After graduating from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2006, I completed my obstetrics and gynecology residency at the same institution in 2011. Between 2011 and 2014, I received gynecological oncology surgery specialization training at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine.

While continuing his education in gynecological oncology surgery, he was active for 2 months at the Charles University gynecological oncology center in Prague.

I worked as After completing my minor specialization, I was accredited as a cancer surgery specialist by the European Society of Gynecological Oncology (ESGO) in 2015.

Between November 2014 and June 2018, I completed my state service obligation by working as a gynecological oncology surgery specialist at Etlik Zübeyde Hanım Gynecology and Research Hospital. During this time, I passed the USMLE exams and obtained the ECFMG certificate and got the right to practice as a clinical physician in the USA.

I started to work as a clinical fellow at the USA Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in July 2018 and returned to my country in July 2020.

I was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2019. My main area of ​​interest is the surgical treatment of female cancers. I am particularly experienced in laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

I have experience in specific surgeries of patients who have relapsed and/or need reoperation.
